Big IRC networks should have a real-time display on their web pages showing how busy the public channels are, so that people can easily find other people to talk to. It would also be useful to have a time-based visualisation of how busy channels are -- a number of parallel horizontal strips, each representing the activity in a channel over the day using different colours.
