GARStow is a software package management system, built upon GNU make and GNU stow. It's a greatly extended version of Nick Moffitt's GAR ports system.
GARStow includes more than 2000 packages, and writing new packages is simple — see gucharmap's Makefile for an example. It can be used to build additional local software for an existing system, or to build an entire GNU/Linux system from scratch.
