The autobiography of Michael Green, of "The Art Of Course Golf" (etc.) fame, covering his early life, his time in the army after World War 2 and (in the next book) his career as a journalist. Green is a superb comic writer and pulls together an impressive collection of anecdotes and recollections. Well worth reading if you can find a copy.
